Katie grew up in a Christian home where she and her family were heavily involved in the Church body, so although she knew what it looked like to follow Christ, she had not yet surrendered to having a personal relationship with God... yet. It wasn't until she was sixteen years old, at a summer church camp, that she made the decision to let Christ lead and be the center of her life.
After graduating, she felt the call to go into camp ministry. This ministry is where she wanted to show and share with others how Jesus is the best choice someone could make. Although she didn't know the answers, she felt she was being tugged to serve in camping. She prayed and sought the Lord for direction in where He wanted her to go. In time, God revealed that Camp Butman is where she needed to be in this season of life. After learning, serving, and being a light to the campers and her fellow staff for the summer of 2026, she began preparing to go back into the real world. However, the Lord quickly redirected her to stay at Camp Butman, where the opportunity opened for her to be an intern. Katie has learned that God's plans are far greater than anything she could imagine, and she is excited to see how He will use her for His glory.
